A Message from The Principal

Greetings,

Welcome to Brighter Choice Charter Middle School for Boys. Our school, an upward expansion of the highly successful Brighter Choice Charter School for Boys elementary school, will offer 5th and 6th grades for the 2011-12 school year.

The mission of Brighter Choice Middle School for Boys is to prepare boys for high school and college success while attending to the unique developmental needs of middle school students. The school works toward this mission by: differentiating instruction, utilizing data for decision making, committing to technology use, emphasizing student choice, offering high school placement counseling, providing single gender instruction, requiring school uniforms, extending the school day, and implementing a year-round school program. We also provide a number of extra-curricular activities for our students.

For the 2011-12 school year, we will move into our brand new facility at 395 Elk Street in Albany. This facility will feature flexible learning spaces, state of the art technology, and outdoor learning spaces.

Brighter Choice Middle School for Boys believes that great education requires a whole community. Our community starts with great teachers focused on improving student results. We expect our parents to involve themselves in our programs and helping to keep our students on track. Our students, parents, and teachers are supported by an administrative staff with a focus on assisting them achieve their goals.
